Youth Music Grant
Do you know a young songwriter? Heartland Song Network is awarding 4 Grants to Youth Songwriters! Recipients will receive a professional recording, mixing, and mastering session for their original song PLUS a performance opportunity at The Kansas City Folk Fest on May 17, 2025.
This is open to youth songwriters aged 21 or under. It must be an original work (no covers or remixes) by artists with no prior professional recordings. Submissions for original works are due April 17, 2025. Please see below for more details.
The Youth Recording Grant is sponsored by The Dwayne and Anita Martin Family Foundation
DETAILS:
-Applicants aged 21 or under
-Original Songs Only (no remix or covers)
-Song Length: maximum 4 minutes
-File Format: MP3 or WAV
-Additional Materials: must submit a lyric/chord sheet
-Applicants under 18 must include a signed parent/legal guardian consent form
-Recipients must provide their own instruments for recording
-Applicants should indicate in their submission if they would like to receive mentorship or guidance if selected
-Submission Deadline: April 17, 2025
-Recipients Announced: May 8, 2025
-Recording Sessions: Completed by May 31, 2025

Submission Guidelines:
Request must be submitted online at least four (4) weeks prior to the date of your event.
All requests must be submitted online through the below form. No phone calls or emails are accepted.
This form must be completed in its entirety in order for your request to be considered.
Be prepared to provide a brief explanation of the event, including date, contact name, contact email, contact phone number, complete mailing address and the organization's Federal Tax ID information.
If a charitable organization, attach the 501(c)(3) determination letter in one of the following formats: .pdf, .doc, .docx, .xls, or .xlsx. Limit the file size to less than 10MB.
Submitting a request does not guarantee a sponsorship or donation.
At present, HSN is limiting our support to the Heartland (Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa).
Sponsorships/Donations are at sole discretion of the Heartland Song Network.
